Leisure activities are a huge element of life in Cape
Coral, for young and old. Cape Coral and lee County both
have two-to-three times the amount of parks and recreational
areas set aside than a typical area, even in Florida. In
addition, our tourist economy supports many attractions and
recreational facilities that other areas cannot provide
their year-round residents. We even have state and national
parks in our area, providing inexpensive ways to enjoy
unique natural wonders.
Because southwest Florida is a tourist destination, we
have more than our "fair" share of of excellent dining in
all price ranges. Many privately owned establishments have
been favorites for decades.
We also enjoy a full assortment of chain restaurants; from
fast food to "fern bars". Jean
le Boeuf has been the local newspaper restaurant reviewer
for years, and can has a list of restaurant's he has
visited.
Cape Coral has a fast growing array of shopping venues, from
wholesale clubs to boutiques. The primary commercial
roadways are Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral Parkway, Pine
Island Road and Santa Barbara. (See our
map of Cape Coral.) In addition, nearby Fort Myers,
Estero and Naples offer multiple malls, shopping centers and
stores for every need.
