Cape Coral's Economy & Statistics
SW Florida is an incredibly fast growing area, and the
economy thrives on both seasonal visitors and the
construction that accompanies our fast growth. The medical
sector and government also provide wide job opportunities.
"Boomer" dollars continue to move southward, as many
families are retiring at much earlier ages than before.
Young families are also moving in, decreasing the average
age of a Lee County family considerably from times past.
Cape Coral has the best of both worlds, by
avoiding being in the center of major traffic corridors, it
does not borrow the congestion of through traffic, but it
has easy access to Interstates, state roads, an
international airport, a private airport, ferries to the
Keys, and county public transportation. Rental cars are
available in town or at the airport and multiple taxi
services are always available. Cape Coral's roadways are
keeping pace with growth. Many widening projects have been
completed recently, and access to three bridges means
getting to Fort Myers is quick and easy.
