Weather and Geography

Despite the state's reputation as a tropical paradise, there are multiple climates within Florida. The coasts do enjoy subtropical weather year-round, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s most of the year. Inland areas see a wider range of temperatures, and sometimes experience frost in winter. Farther north, colder days allow for growing plants that need some chilly nights, and the farthest northern areas see a small amount of snow on occasion! While a lot of Florida is flat, the center and northern areas have beautiful rolling hills covered with oak trees dripping Spanish moss. There is truly something for everyone here.

  • Florida Demographics: US Census

Florida is an incredibly fast growing state, and the economy thrives on both seasonal visitors and the construction that accompanies our fast growth. The medical sector and government also provide wide job opportunities. "Baby Boomer" dollars continue to move southward, as many families are retiring at much earlier ages than before. Young families are also moving in, decreasing the average age of a Florida family considerably from times past.
